Port Moresby will once again take centre stage as PNG Fashion Week and Vision City Mega Mall proudly celebrate their ninth consecutive year of partnership, delivering Port Moresby Fashion Week from 2–4 April 2026 at Vision City.

What has been built over nearly a decade is far more than an annual event. It is a proven platform that brings together fashion, business, community and culture in one of the busiest commercial spaces in the country. Each year, this partnership transforms everyday foot traffic into a powerful, living experience—where creativity meets commerce and opportunity is made visible.

Importantly, Port Moresby Fashion Week remains free and open to the public, ensuring that every Papua New Guinean—regardless of background—can experience, participate in, and benefit from this national platform.

Hosted within Vision City Mega Mall—one of the country’s busiest retail hubs with over 20,000 people passing through daily—the event provides unmatched exposure for designers, small businesses, and partners. This level of foot traffic transforms the runway and market spaces into powerful commercial platforms, where visibility is immediate and engagement is constant.

Port Moresby Fashion Week continues to stand as a critical driver of local economic activity. Small businesses and designers are given direct access to thousands of customers, allowing them not only to showcase their work, but to sell, connect, and grow in real time. In a landscape where access to markets can be limited, this platform provides immediate and tangible impact—turning exposure into income and visibility into opportunity.

At the same time, the event plays a vital role in empowering Papua New Guinea’s youth. Through programs such as the Model Citizen Leadership and Runway Workshop and Little Mr & Miss PNG, young people are given the chance to build confidence, develop communication skills, and step into spaces that challenge and inspire them. These are not just moments on stage—they are experiences that shape identity, ambition, and self-belief.

This partnership is also deeply rooted in the celebration of culture. Across the runway and throughout the markets, Papua New Guinea’s diverse identities are expressed through design, storytelling, and presence. It is a space where culture is not compared, but respected—where tradition and modern creativity exist side by side, reflecting the strength and uniqueness of the nation.

The continued collaboration between PNG Fashion Week and Vision City Mega Mall demonstrates the power of consistency and shared vision. For nine years, this partnership has created a reliable and accessible platform for designers, entrepreneurs, and young people, proving that when infrastructure and creativity come together, real change can happen.

Executive Officer for PNG Fashion Week, Brigette Kassman, said the partnership has become a cornerstone of the event’s success and long-term impact.

“Over the past nine years, this partnership has allowed us to build something that is consistent, accessible, and truly impactful for our people. Vision City gives us a space where fashion meets everyday life—where designers can connect directly with customers, and where young people can see what is possible for themselves,” Kassman said.

“This event is not just about showcasing clothing—it’s about creating pathways. We are seeing small businesses grow, young people step into confidence, and communities come together in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable. That is the true value of what we are building here.”

As Port Moresby Fashion Week returns this April, the focus remains clear: to support local business, encourage commerce, empower youth, and celebrate the cultural identity of Papua New Guinea.

This is not just an event. It is a movement that continues to grow—one that connects people, creates opportunity, and proudly showcases the spirit of Papua New Guinea.
