PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea — Papua New Guinean designer Linda Philau Leanne Pius, the creative force behind Philau Kolxsen, has been officially announced as one of the designers participating in PNG Fashion Week 2026, taking place on 18 and 19 September at APEC Haus in Port Moresby.
Linda’s return to the PNG Fashion Week runway represents another important chapter in the development of a designer whose creative journey has been defined by courage, cultural identity and an unwavering willingness to grow. A professional graphic designer by training, Linda initially approached fashion as a personal skill and a small side venture. She was naturally reserved and uncertain about placing herself in the public eye, but her talent and distinctive creative perspective gradually drew her towards the runway.
Her participation in PNG Fashion Week in 2024 became a turning point. It gave Linda the opportunity to present her work before a wider audience and encouraged her to see fashion not simply as a pastime, but as a powerful means of storytelling, cultural representation and personal expression.
Born into Manus and Eastern Highlands heritage and raised in Goroka, Linda carries several cultural worlds within her. Rather than reproducing culture in a literal form, Linda interprets its emotion, memory and meaning through clothing designed for the modern woman.

Linda’s artistic development has continued beyond the national runway. In 2026, she participated in Port Moresby Fashion Week before being selected as part of the Papua New Guinean delegation to Couture in Paradise in Brisbane. She later presented her work at Paradise Runway in Brisbane, placing her designs before new audiences and contributing to the growing visibility of Papua New Guinean fashion in Australia.
Beyond her own label, Linda has also contributed her skills as a tailor, fashion designer and creative collaborator to Miss Papua New Guinea. Her work has included garment production, fittings, runway preparation and the careful presentation of culture through fashion. These experiences have strengthened her technical ability while deepening her understanding of the responsibility designers carry when representing Papua New Guinea.
