PORT MORESBY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA — PNG Fashion Week is proud to announce Stagewave Productions & Catering as its Official Production Partner for PNG Fashion Week 2026, taking place at APEC Haus in Port Moresby on 18 and 19 September.

In a landmark partnership built on the principle of local SMEs supporting local SMEs, Stagewave Productions will provide comprehensive, end-to-end production services for one of Papua New Guinea’s most significant fashion and creative-industry events.

Led by owners Mr George Seseare and Mrs Lydia R. Seseare, Stagewave Productions is a 100 per cent nationally owned company with more than 14 years of experience in event production, technical delivery, logistics, décor and catering.

The company draws its roots from Gulf and Central provinces and has built its success by harnessing Papua New Guinean talent, skills and resources. Its appointment represents an important investment in local capability and demonstrates what can be achieved when Papua New Guinean businesses collaborate to deliver major national events.

“This partnership is incredibly significant to us because it is a local SME standing behind another local platform,” said Philma Kelegai, Founder and Managing Director of PNG Fashion Week.

“Stagewave Productions understands our culture, our people and the environment in which we work. They are not simply supplying equipment—they are coming alongside us as a genuine production partner, helping to deliver the event from beginning to end.”

Through the partnership, Stagewave Productions will support the delivery of staging, sound, lighting, audio-visual services, LED screens, live-streaming capabilities, event setup, décor, marquees, furniture, logistics and catering.

The partnership brings together two Papua New Guinean enterprises that believe strongly in creating opportunities for local people and strengthening the country’s creative economy.

For nine years, PNG Fashion Week has worked to discover, develop, promote and export Papua New Guinean talent. Its programs have created platforms for designers, models, artisans, students, photographers, production professionals and emerging entrepreneurs from across the country.

Stagewave Productions shares this commitment to local development. Its 14-year journey includes the successful production of major community and cultural events, including the 2025 Gulf Pageant in Kerema.

Mrs Lydia R. Seseare, Managing Director of Stagewave Productions & Catering, said the company’s work is driven by professionalism, creativity and cultural authenticity.

“We are proud to be a nationally owned business delivering professional event solutions using Papua New Guinean talent, knowledge and resources,” Mrs Seseare said.

“Our team is honoured to partner with PNG Fashion Week and contribute our experience across production, staging, technical services, décor, logistics and catering. Together, we want to deliver a memorable event that celebrates the extraordinary creativity and cultural richness of Papua New Guinea.”

Stagewave’s philosophy, “Celebrating Culture,” aligns closely with PNG Fashion Week’s 2026 theme, “The Future of Culture.” Both organisations recognise that culture is not only something to preserve—it is also a powerful foundation for enterprise, innovation, employment and national development.

“This is what nation-building through business looks like,” Ms Kelegai said.

“When local organisations engage local production companies, caterers, designers, models, artists and technicians, the investment circulates through our communities. It creates jobs, strengthens skills and allows Papua New Guineans to build businesses that can compete at national and international levels.”

PNG Fashion Week 2026 will bring together 15 designers, 60 Model Citizens, students, artisans, entrepreneurs and creative professionals from Papua New Guinea, Australia, Fiji, Samoa and Indonesia.

Across two days, APEC Haus will host fashion markets, workshops, industry activations, the National Kolos Runway Competition, the National Student Fashion Show and the PNG Fashion Week Main Runway Show.

The partnership with Stagewave Productions will help transform the venue into a fully integrated fashion and cultural experience, providing the technical and operational foundation required to bring the designers’ collections to life.

PNG Fashion Week proudly welcomes Mr George Seseare, Mrs Lydia R. Seseare and the entire Stagewave Productions & Catering team into its 2026 family.

Together, PNG Fashion Week and Stagewave Productions are demonstrating the power of partnership, the capability of Papua New Guinean businesses and the extraordinary results that are possible when local SMEs choose to support and elevate one another.

This is local business supporting local creativity.

This is Papua New Guinean excellence delivering for Papua New Guinea.

This is the future of culture.
