WALKING WITH AUTHENTICITY

Bereina Rising: Olivia Jerram on the Runway

THE ROOTS

“I’m from Bereina Village in the Kairuku District of Central Province.” Growing up in Central Province has grounded Olivia in strong cultural values that continue to guide her journey.

For this competition, she proudly represents Central Province, carrying its vibrant heritage onto the runway.

When asked where her striking look comes from, she laughs. “I got my dad’s height, but my mum’s face — that runway stare is definitely inherited from her.”

"I don’t just walk the runway — I carry the pride of the garment and my heritage in every step."

FAMILY FIRST

Behind Olivia’s confidence stands a strong family foundation. “My biggest supporters are my parents and my whole family.” Their encouragement has been central to her journey. “They are the foundation of everything I do.” Their support has helped her remain grounded while pursuing her ambitions in fashion.

THE PURPOSE

For Olivia, becoming a PNG Fashion Week National Brand Ambassador represents something much bigger than modelling. “It’s a chance to change the narrative and show that modelling is built on discipline, resilience and heart.” She hopes to show young Papua New Guineans that beauty alone is not what defines a model. “The real value is being a woman of substance who represents her country with dignity.”

MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE

Olivia understands that social media can sometimes create assumptions. “Some people judge what they see online, but I am not the comments or opinions people make.” Instead, she defines herself by her growth. “I’m someone who is constantly learning, growing and trying to be better every day.”

One value she refuses to compromise is authenticity. “I want to win by being exactly who I am — not a version of someone else.”

"Authenticity is my strength. I stand on the runway as myself."

PERSONALITY SNAPSHOT

Heels or Sneakers?

Heels for the runway, sneakers off the runway.

Early mornings or runway nights?

Late-night runway energy — everything feels more electric under the lights.

Pre-runway ritual?

One deep breath and a reminder: "Just be you."

What might surprise people about you?

“I may walk the runway in heels, but I actually love boxing. It keeps me disciplined and mentally strong.”

THE FUN SIDE

If Olivia’s runway walk came with a warning label, it would read:

⚠ CAUTION: Unstoppable momentum. Watch the fire.

If fashion were food?

“If fashion were food, it would be pineapple — bold, vibrant and always wearing a crown.”

IF SHE WINS

Olivia says her first reaction would be gratitude. “I would thank PNG Fashion Week for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.” She would also thank the many supporters who stood beside her throughout the journey. Because for Olivia, success is never achieved alone.
